Over the weekend, I took portraits of my neice. Taking portraits are a new thing for me, so I'll take any advice to make these better.

Great shot, only advice (maybe), is too much detail in tree is distracting, so perhaps a shallower dof or angle. You have captured the models expression perfectly and the lighting is just right.

I think your on the right track, never centre and don't be shy to move in and show the person.

Great triple composition: the white blouse, the tree branch and the most important part, the portrait! Also the way she elegantly "caresses" the branch!
